What is abundantly clear from the photographs in this blog is the loving care your mother had always taken of each and every one of you.
Anna
The winter of 1962-63 was one of the coldest on record. Even the sea froze for miles off the Kent coast. We brought Anna's 'Moses basket' into our bedroom, kept an electric heater on all night and placed pots of water near it to provide humidity. Even when asleep, we were 'tuned in' to Anna's breathing pattern and at the slightest variation, I would wake to check that she was alright.
But oh, where are the snows of yesteryear?
