Johan CONRAD (1811 – 1879) was a tailor in Manchester.This is him:

Elizabeth CLAYTON (1819 - ?), whom Johan CONRAD married in 1841, was the daughter of Isaac CLAYTON, a joiner in Manchester

Peter Lyon NICOLL (Scotland 1849 – 1931) married Alice CONRAD (b. 1853 – d. c. 1910)

James NICOLL (1885 - ?), married Mabel, nee BOWKER

Isn't she beautiful?  I met her only once. After Anna was born Mabel came to visit us in New Denham to see Anna. That was either in the winter of 1962 or perhaps in the following spring. She was, of course, quite old at the time, wearing glasses and smoking like a chimney, but slim, sprightly, and very nice and pleasent. I could never have imagined then how beautiful she was in her younger days.

And this is James NICOLL, your great grandpa who married her.

They had four daughters, I think, and your grandma Alice was one of them.
